PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard has appointed Robert
Mandel and Craig Pfeifle to serve as circuit
court judges in South Dakota's Seventh Circuit Court.
Mandel and Pfeifle, both of Rapid City, will fill vacancies
caused by the recent retirements of judges John Delaney and A.P.
"Pete" Fuller. The Seventh Circuit includes Custer, Fall River,
Pennington, and Shannon counties.
Pfeifle, a Sioux Falls native, is a shareholder and managing
member of Lynn, Jackson, Shultz and Lebrun. Mandel, a Chicago
native, is the supervisory assistant U.S. Attorney heading up the
Rapid City office.
Both will assume their positions as circuit court judges no
later than January 2012.
The governor announced the appointments on Tuesday.
