SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - National Weather Service officials have
identified an unidentified flying object over the Sioux Falls area.
The bright light that appeared in the sky about 3:30 a.m.
Wednesday prompted several calls to law enforcement and the weather
service. Agency technician Tim Masters says the flash of light wasn't a UFO but a
meteor.
Masters says it was a random event and not part of a meteor
shower. He also says there were no reports of anything hitting the
ground.
National UFO Reporting Center Director Peter Davenport says the
bright light is consistent with a meteor, though he says the only
way to know for sure would be to interview the people who saw it.
