SD Highest Flu Shot Rate

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota's epidemiologist says the
state has achieved the highest overall influenza vaccination rates
in the nation for the flu season.
Epidemiologist Lon Kightlinger says that convenience and
cooperation between public and private immunization efforts
in the state may account for the high rate of immunizations.
Health officials say 55.6 percent of the population older than 6
months in South Dakota received flu shots last year. The national
rate of 46.2 percent.
