Sick Moose Killed Near Groton

GROTON, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota wildlife officials killed a
moose in a field near the northeastern city of Groton because it
appeared sick and disoriented.
Game, Fish and Parks conservation officer Nick Cochran tells the
that the carcass was sent to a South Dakota State University lab for
testing to determine what made the animal ill. He says it will be
tested for brain worms and other diseases.
Cochran says moose sometimes wander down from North Dakota.
