SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Another week of favorable weather has
helped South Dakota farmers with their row crop harvest.
The Agriculture Department says in its latest crop and weather
report that the soybean harvest is essentially complete in most
areas. Eighty-five percent of corn and 87 percent of sunflowers are
now in the bin. All are well ahead of the average pace.
Ninety-one percent of South Dakota's winter wheat crop has
emerged.
Many cattle pastures remain dry. Range and pasture land is
reported at 52 percent in good to excellent condition.
