Voters to Decide on Sioux Falls Events Center

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Residents in South Dakota's largest
city will decide on the fate of a $115 million events center.
Sioux Falls voters are being asked Tuesday to approve a proposal
that would use money from a city sales tax already in place to help
pay for the center.
Supporters of the project say it will energize the economy and
put the city on the national map for sports and entertainment.
The Sioux Falls says some opponents are unhappy that the chosen site is not
downtown. Others say the city should focus on other areas besides
entertainment.
The center would seat 12,000 for concerts and basketball games.
The measure needs a majority of voters to pass.
