New City Manager in Strugis Takes Office

STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - The new city manager of Sturgis says he
wants to leverage the economic benefits of the Sturgis Motorcycle
Rally for the community.
Daniel Ainslie started his new job as city manager Nov. 1 after
David Boone resigned from the position in April.
Ainslie was the development manager for the city of Merced,
Calif., before taking the Sturgis position.
He says he believes the city has a lot of potential for growth because the
Sturgis name is nationally known.
Ainslie was born in Lemmon and had been to the city's motorcycle
rally twice before accepting the city manager job.
Ainslie says his other goal is to help revitalize the city's
downtown area.
