SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls police say a program aimed
at taking unwanted prescription drugs off the streets netted 934
pounds of medications last month.
The Sioux Falls department was one of 16 statewide to participate in
the program that invites residents to discard unwanted medications.
Sioux Falls police spokesman Sam Clemens says 1,726 pounds were
collected by all of the departments.
The 934 pounds in Sioux Falls were far more than what was
collected in two similar take-back programs earlier this year.
