Voters Approve Madison School Renovation Project

MADISON, S.D. (AP) - Residents of Madison have approved a
renovation project for the local high school.
A proposed $6.35 million bond issue needed 60 percent of the
vote in Tuesday's election and got 65 percent. About 2,300 people
voted.
The $14.5 million project includes renovating the school and
adding new space for science labs, a library and a gymnasium.
Superintendent Vince Schaefer tells The Madison Daily Leader that
the project should be bid early next year, and take about one and a half
years to complete once construction begins.
