HOT SPRINGS, S.D. (AP) - Two men are in custody after a standoff
with law officers at a southwest South Dakota ranch that ended
peacefully.
The Fall River County Sheriff's Office says the incident began
Wednesday when a deputy went to the ranch west of Hot Springs with
two outstanding warrants and observed a shotgun near a man who was
sitting on a porch. The man ran inside the house and refused to
answer the door.
One man eventually surrendered, and the second suspect was
arrested later. Authorities did not immediately release their
names.
