Pilot in Crash Identified



STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - Authorities on Sunday identified a
single-engine plane pilot who died after crashing in Sturgis.
     The Meade County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old Charlie Palmer of
Dyersburg, Tenn., was killed Friday morning when the Cessna 172 he
was piloting crashed at Sturgis Municipal Airport.
     The sheriff's office and the Federal Aviation Administration are
investigating.
     An FAA spokesman has said that Palmer was with the Bear Butte
Flying Club and was practicing touch-and-go landings when the plane
crashed.
