YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - Students at Mount Marty College are
learning about the consequences of impaired or distracted driving
through virtual driver interactive simulators.
A grant from the Office of Highway Safety allowed Mount Marty
College to shave off 75 percent of the cost to have the simulators
delivered and operated on campus for five weekdays.
The last day will be Tuesday.
Dozens of students gathered around the two simulators in the
Roncalli Center last Thursday to put them to use or to watch a
friend.
Student affairs administrative assistant Laura Crosley says it's
been interesting to watch students' reactions. She says people
behind the drivers are telling them to speed up or turn left or
right, which is similar to having a carload of friends.
