The Brookings County Sheriff's Department arrests a Brookings
woman on grand theft and other charges after she allegedly stole
a car.
The 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was taken from a residence about
six miles north of Volga and was found abandoned at Oakwood
Lakes at about 6:00 o'clock Tuesday evening.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a phone call led them to
19-year-old Chantelle Hovey of Brookings. She was arrested in
Bruce and charged with grand theft, criminal entry of a motor
vehicle, petty theft, ingesting an intoxicating substance and
zero tolerance.
