MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota lawmaker says he's being
unfairly removed from a House committee.
Republican Rep. Stace Nelson of Fulton says his opposition to a
proposed dairy in Hanson County and his battles with GOP leadership
have cost him a seat on the Agriculture and Natural Resources
Committee nextsession. He says he's being appointed to the Local
Government Committee, and he calls the move "a disgrace."
House Speaker Val Rausch of Big Stone City says the change in
committee assignments has nothing to do with personal political
battles. He says Nelson is a good lawmaker but that Nelson's public
accusations are "unfortunate."
