Another reason to keep your doors locked at night.
Brookings Police Lt. Derrick Powers says a Brookings woman
awoke early Wednesday morning to find a man crouching by her
bed.
It happened at about 1:30 a.m. in an apartment on the 2200
block of 9th St.
The woman thought it might be the friend of a roommate. She
nudged the man with her foot and got no response. She then
asked what he was doing and the man took off running.
She was not sure it had even happened until she talked to her
roomates in the morning and one said she had heard someone
leaving the apartment.
Powers says the woman was not able to give a description of the
intruder. He says the apartment was not locked and he encourages
everyone to keep their doors locked.
