The first baby of 2012 in Brookings arrived at 5:52 Monday morning at
Brookings Health System.
Dirk VanderWal is son of Alisha and Chris VanderWal of Brookings. He
weighed in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Mother and baby are both doing
well.
Dirk joins three other siblings in the VanderWal family.
As the New Year's Baby, Dirk and his family received a variety of toys, baby
products, and over $500 in cash, gift certificates and services from local
businesses, individuals and organizations.
