RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A state Health Department summary says
South Dakota was one of 10 states nationwide that reported no new
influenza cases last week.
Flu activity remained low across the nation for the week ending Dec.
24. No states reported widespread flu activity, and 27 states
reported sporadic activity.
South Dakota has had six confirmed cases of flu so far this
season, compared with 25 cases at the same point a year ago. Flu
typically peaks in February, and state health officials expect flu
activity to increase in the coming weeks.
