Janklow in Hospice Care

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard says former South
Dakota Gov. Bill Janklow has been moved to hospice care.
Daugaard said during his state of the state speech Tuesday that
Janklow's son Russ recently told him the news and asked everyone to
keep Janklow and his family in their prayers.
The 72-year-old Janklow announced in November that he had
recently been diagnosed with inoperable cancer and was beginning
treatment. He said he would do whatever was necessary to fight it.
Janklow was elected governor in 1978 and served two four-year
terms. He lost the Republican Senate primary in 1986.
Janklow served another two four-year terms as governor beginning
in 1994.
