A man receiving treatment at the Brookings Hospital emergency
room is accused of assaulting a nurse.
Police Lt. Derrick Powers says police found the man
unconscious in the alley on the 300 block of 4th St. That was at
about 2:40 this morning.
The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Shortly before
4:00 a.m., the ER called police, requesting an officer. The man
had become combative and struck one of the nurses on the side
of her neck and face.
Police arrested the 23-year-old Brookings man for simple assault
and disorderly conduct.
