A Brookings man pleads guilty to sexual contact with a child
under 16.
Rogar Maxwell, age 48, entered the plea Thursday in Brookings
County Court. He admitted sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl
in November of last year.
As part of the plea deal, a second count of sexual contact was
dismissed.
The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation including a
psycho-sexual exam. Maxwell is scheduled to be sentenced
on march 27th. He'll be held without bond until then. Maxwell
is facing a maximum of 15-years in prison. There is a
mandatory minimum of 10-years in prison.
Maxwell has a previous conviction for a sexual assault in Iowa.
