ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - State Sen. Jim Hundstad says he likely
will miss the rest of this year's legislative session with heart
health issues.
Doctors are analyzing the health of Hundstad's circulatory
system, after a free heart screening for legislators last week
indicated a high level of calcium in his arteries.
The 70-year-old Democrat from Bath says he is undergoing a
stress test Friday in Sioux Falls. He says that could be followed
by an angiogram that would help doctors determine if he needs
some form of heart procedure.
Hundstad is serving his 12th year in the state Legislature. He
is the Democrats' assistant leader in the Senate.
