TEA, S.D. (AP) - A 30-year-old Sioux Falls man accused of driving drunk and hitting three young boys as they rode their bicycles already has been convicted of drunken driving - twice.
Mark Davis is being held in the Minnehaha County Jail for the Sunday night incident on Sundowner Avenue near 85th Street in Tea, S.D. The boys were treated at a local hospital.
Lincoln County State's Attorney Tom Wollman says that the three are in good condition. In addition to facing his third drunken driving charge, Davis is charged with three counts of vehicular battery. He faces at least a decade in prison if convicted.
Witness Tanya Knutson says that the boys were covered in dirt and crying. Another witness says that motorists routinely speed down the 35 mph street.
