MARTIN, S.D. (AP) - Oglala Sioux tribal officials hope a new casino in Martin will help boost revenue for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Tribal leaders and residents gathered in Martin Friday to celebrate the grand opening of the East Wind Casino.
The new casino has more than 100 machines and is creating 40 new jobs for tribal members like Stanley Little White Man.
He says the new casino makes it easier for him to get to work. Before, he was traveling more than 85 miles from his home to the Prairie Wind Casino in Oglala. But now he says he has more time to spend with his family.
