In the District 4 Republican Primary for State Senate, incumbent Tim Begalka
of Clear Lake defeats the current Speaker of the House, Val Rausch of Big
Stone City, 67% to 33%.
It's 1106 votes for Begalka, 549 for Rausch. Begalka won Brookings County
304-89.
In addition to Brookings County outside the City of Brookings, the new
District 4 is also made up of Codington County outside of Watertown, Deuel
County and Grant County.
