WESTPORT, S.D. (AP) - A man is in custody after allegedly leading police on a chase in northeast South Dakota and then climbing halfway up an electrical transmission tower.
The Sunday afternoon chase began in Aberdeen and ended northeast of Westport when a Brown County deputy talked the man into coming down from the high-voltage tower.
Witnesses say the man parked his car in Westport, swam across the Elm River and climbed the tower. Authorities did not immediately identify him.
