SDSU Extension hosting food entrepreneur workshops



     BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota State University Extension is hosting local food entrepreneur workshops in Kadoka and Philip this summer.
 
     The morning sessions will include a three-part business planning series. The afternoons will consist of three tracks covering food safety and processing for farmer's markets, business documents and financing options and farmer's market start-up.
 
     The sessions scheduled for June 27 in Kadoka, July 11 in Philip and July 18 in Kadoka are geared to local produce growers, food producers and local food-product processors.
 
     The USDA Rural Development-sponsored training is free. Lakota Funds is sponsoring a meal for registered participants.
