A Brookings woman is facing charges after allegedly displaying a handgun
during a domestic dispute.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers says it was reported about 3:30 Sunday morning.
It happened at a residence on the one-thousand block of Onaka Trail.

Powers says a man and woman got into an argument and at one point, the
woman pulled .22 caliber handgun and waved it around. She reportedly
threw it to the floor before police arrived.  It's believed the gun was not
loaded.

The argument also turned physical and it's alleged the woman tried to
strangle the man.

The 28-year-old female was arrested and charged with aggravated
assault domestic.
