RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Rapid City man sentenced to a year in jail for a recent drunken driving conviction while out on parole might have to serve the rest of the prison sentence he received for a drunken crash eight years ago that killed his 3-year-old daughter.
South Dakota Corrections Department spokesman Michael Winder says that the department has submitted a parole violation report on 42-year-old Raymond Salvas. He will have a hearing before the state Pardons and Paroles Board to determine whether his parole will be revoked.
Salvas was paroled after serving half of a 10-year sentence for manslaughter in the 2004 crash that killed his daughter.
