SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - An eight-member political delegation including a South Dakota state senator is visiting China and Taiwan on a two-week trip this month.
State Sen. Shantel Krebs, a Renner Republican, was sponsored by the American Council of Young Political Leaders. The nongovernmental organization seeks to broaden the knowledge of political leaders younger than 40 about other parts of the world.
Krebs left for Washington, D.C., this past Thursday for a briefing with the State Department before heading to China. The other seven members of the delegation are from other parts of the country.
Krebs says China's massive population is growing, and the nation will need the agricultural products that South Dakota produces.
