A man is injured after being chased on his four-wheeler by some property owners in pickups.
According to the Brookings County Sheriff's Department, it happened shortly after four o'clock
Friday afternoon on 200th Street, just north of White.
It started when 51-year-old Greg Stamp and his wife Candace, both of Astoria, saw a man
driving a four-wheeler on a public roadway near their property where they've had problems
with trespassers. They attempted to stop the four-wheeler by blocking the road with their
pickups.
A chase ensued with both pickups following the four-wheeler for about six miles. Greg Stamp
attempted to pass the four-wheeler and the two vehicles hit, throwing the driver from the ATV.
He's identified as 44-year-old Frank Tirrel of Astoria. He was taken by ambulance to the
Hendricks hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Tirrel was cited for careless driving and no vehicle registration. Charges are pending against
Greg and Candace Stamp. The accident is under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriffs
Office.
