STATE “B” LEGION…It’ll be a Corsica-Groton rematch to stay alive in the state “B” American Legion baseball tournament in Milbank.
    Corsica handed Flandreau it’s first loss of the tournament 10-2, while Groton eliminated Miner/McCook 23-1.
    Corsica will face Groton in an elimination game, with the winner to meet Flandreau later for the state title. 

STATE “A” LEGION…The state “A” American Legion baseball tournament starts Wednesday at Aberdeen.  Opening round pairings:  The double-elimination tourney ends Sunday.

HOCKEY HOUSING…An informational meeting regarding housing Brookings Blizzard hockey players will be held Monday at 6:30pm at Larson Ice Center.
   Coaches, owners and staff members will be on hand to answer questions about hosting players, and provide information about the billet program. Players will report to Brookings the first week of September and remain in Brookings until the end of the season in Aprill.  You can also get information at gobrookingsblizzard.com.

ESPN-MVFC DEAL…ESPN has reached an agreement with the league to carry five games as part of a Missouri Valley Football Conference Game of the Week package on ESPN3 during the 2012 college football season.
   The availability of these games on ESPN3 allows fans to watch live events across multiple screens, whether that’s through Xbox LIVE on your TV screen, or while on the go on your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
   As part of the agreement, ESPN3 will carry at least five college football games from the Missouri Valley Football Conference beginning this season, and as many as 15 additional games that will be carried on ESPN3 -- as part of a cooperative effort between institutional production companies -- will be announced later.
  The conference five-game package on ESPN3 includes:
Sat., Sept. 29  6:00 p.m.  Indiana State at Southern Illinois
Sat., Oct. 6  1:00 p.m.  Youngstown State at North Dakota State
Sat., Oct. 13  1:00 p.m.  Youngstown State at Illinois State
