Some additional information today on the report of a 6-year-old boy
who says he was approached by a stranger who tried to lure him into
a van.
It reportedly happened at around 3:15 Monday afternoon near Half
Moon Road. The boy says a man in a large purple van showed him
some money and said there was more in the van and asked him to
get in.
The boy instead rode his bike home and told his Mom what had
happened. She called police.
Police Lt. Derrick Powers says it happened in a commons area
between Half Moon Road and Tatonka Pass. he says the van had to
drive on the grass to reach the area.
There's also a more detailed description of the man: A white male,
in his 50's or 60's with brown hair and a mustache. The vehicle is
described as a large purple van with tinted windows and an angel
on the grill.
Anyone who may have seen this man or the purple van is asked to
