MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - No students were hurt in a collision involving a Mitchell school bus and a sport utility vehicle.
The Highway Patrol says that the two people in the SUV suffered minor injuries in the afternoon collision Monday, the first day of the new school year. The bus driver was ticketed for a stop sign violation.
The patrol says there were three children on the bus - two students and the bus driver's child. The students were picked up by family members at the accident scene.
Superintendent Joe Graves says school officials plan to meet with the contracted Dietrich (DEE'-trihk) Bus Service to review what happened.
