Bond set for police chase suspects

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A judge has set bond for a husband and wife who tried to steal an ATM machine before leading authorities on a chase that lasted several hours.

Bond for 34-year-old Tyson Wessels of Chancellor has been set at $200,000. He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and third-degree burglary. Thirty-year-old Kelly Wessels is accused of possessing burglary tools. Her bond is set at $5,000. Both appeared Monday afternoon in Minnehaha County Court.

Authorities say the two on Friday tried to steal an ATM from a Valley Springs store before they led police on the chase through South Dakota and Iowa. Officials say the two are suspected in other burglary cases in the area.
