VALLEY SPRINGS, S.D. (AP) - A lightning storm sparked two house fires, damaged another home and knocked down trees in the southeastern South Dakota town of Valley Springs.
The storm hit Tuesday morning and sent debris into yards and streets in the community of about 750 people. Fire Chief Don Johnson says no one was hurt.
Resident Darrick Almer described the storm as loud, bright and "freaky."
