SDSU GOLF… Morgan Fitts was the runner-up at the first-ever Jackrabbit Fall Invitational which wrapped up Monday afternoon at the Minnehaha Country Club. itts carded 226 to lead the young squad to a fifth place finish for the two day event.
Amber Houser finished in 14th with 242 and Michaela Kouri shot 253 to finish in a tie for 29th. Rounding out the top-five, Sydney MacDonald and Alli Plath tied for 34th at 256 .
North Dakota State took home top team and individual honors. Amy Anderson, whose brother won the men’s side of the tournament, posted 216 to win by 10 strokes.

The SDSU men placed second with an 885.
Hudson Carpenter fired a 69 in the final round Monday and finished one stroke behind North Dakota State’s Nathan Anderson. Miles Knutsen carded a 222 to earn his first collegiate top-ten.
Greg Fehrman tied for 14th with 227. Brian Wynia posted 229 to finish tied for 18th. David Smith, shot 235 to finish in a tie for 33rd.
NDSU took top team honors by eight strokes with a two-day total of 877 and had three top-ten finishers.

FCS POLL… North Dakota State University is atop the Football Championship Subdivision coaches' poll for the fifth straight week.
The defending FCS champions downed Northern Iowa 33-21 over the weekend and got all 26 first-place votes in the weekly poll. The undefeated Bison host No. 3. Youngstown State this Saturday at the Fargodome. Youngstown State was the only team to defeat NDSU last season.
South Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota got votes in this week's poll but did not crack the Top 25.

WEIGMAN HONORED…Brookings goaltender Drew Weigman has been honored as the Central Division player of the week by the North American Hockey League.
The 18-year-old Maryland native stopped 71 of a combined 73 shots in a weekend home-and-home sweep of the Aberdeen Wings.
