BHS FB…Brookings didn’t mess around with Tuesday’s night’s opening round playoff game with Rapid City Central.
   Quarterback Caleb Vig started things on the second play from scrimmage – Dellas Cole had the call on K-Country 102:  97621   :17   “him down…touchdown”.
   Vig and Mike Daniel built on the lead just before halftime:  97622   :19   “touchdown…43 yards”.
   Vig added the game-clincher midway through the fourth:  97623   :10   “one was there”.
   Central’s Asher Pikula caught his sixth scoring pass of the season late in the fourth:  97624   :16   “touchdown is Pikula”.
   Vig ran for 112 yards and threw for 194 more – Zach Page had five catches for 91 yards.  Mike Daniel was held to16 carries for 44 yards.
   Central’s Donne Pallatto completed 22-of-41 passes for 269 yards – Pikula had 12 catches for 172 yards.
   Bobcat assistant coach Ken Vigdal says the team continued progress shown in the regular season closer against Aberdeen Central.  97625   :36   “did last week”.
   Brookings plays Monday at top-seed Sioux Falls Washington – game time will be 5:00pm at Howard Wood Field.

FOX AND SUMMIT…Twenty-six Summit League men’s and women’s basketball games will air on Fox College Sports this season, marking the largest schedule of nationally-televised games in league history. Included are 14 Summit League regular season matchups and all 12 men’s and women’s quarterfinal and semifinal games from the conference tournament.
   Four Saturday men’s basketball doubleheaders highlight the schedule. The quartet of “Summit Saturdays” begins with each of the top four teams in The Summit League’s preseason poll matching up on January 26. The North Dakota State at South Dakota State game opens the day’s schedule and is followed by Western Illinois at Oakland. The following Saturday features Western Illinois at IUPUI and Kansas City at South Dakota State. On Feb. 16, the doubleheader begins with a rematch of the 2012 Summit League Championship game with Western Illinois at South Dakota State ahead of the Oakland at Kansas City matchup.    
   Fox College Sports will showcase the regular season women’s game between North Dakota State and South Dakota State on Dec. 30. Doubleheaders of The Summit League’s women’s quarterfinal games will air on March 9 and 10 along with both semifinals on March 11.

SDSU RODEO… The SDSU men’s rodeo team is going into the fall break ranked second nationally and first in the region. SDSU won first place in River Falls; Ames; and Fargo rodeos, and second place at Ft. Dodge. Currently eleven teams compete and have points in the region.
   The women’s team is 16th nationally and second regionally. The team placed second in River Falls, Fargo and Fort Dodge; and fourth in Ames. Eight teams have points in the Great Plains region.
   SDSU rodeo had a fall roster of 54 from six states and Canada.
   The next NIRA collegiate rodeo will be the SDSU Jackrabbit Stampede April 5th and 6th, preceded by the SDSU Rodeo Gala Fundraiser April 4th.

ACE GOODROAD… Larry Goodroad of the Brookings Country Club had his third career hole-in-one Tuesday. He used an 6-iron to ace the 148 yard, par 3, third hole. The shot was witnessed by Ron Einspahr and Chuck Zink.
