Three Brookings men are stabbed in a Saturday morning incident in
Brookings.

According to Police Lt. Derrick Powers, officers were called to the 300
block of Third Street shortly before 2:00 a.m. with a report of several fights
going on.

When police arrived at the scene, a man notified them that he had been
stabbed in the groin area. A second man had been stabbed in the left
side and upper leg.

Police were later talking to witnesses when a third man discovered he had
also been stabbed. His wound was in the buttocks.

All three men are from Brookings and all are in their early 20's. They were
taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital, where they were treated and
released.

A 23-year-old Elkton man has been arrested and is charged with aggravated
assault.

Powers says police are still investigating and they're asking for the public's help.
Anyone who may have seen any of the assaults is asked to contact police.
