SAYLER LEAVES USD… The athletic director at the University of South Dakota has resigned to take a position at a college in Ohio.
David Sayler resigned to accept a position at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Sayler, who is from Ohio, says it has been a goal of his for a while to return, but it became even more of a priority when his wife's mother passed away recently.
USD President James Abbott says that while the school hates to see Sayler leave, he understand the situation.
Sayler was named USD's 12th athletic director in June 2010 and oversaw the university's final stages of transition to NCAA Division I athletics.
Senior Associate Athletic Director David Herbster will act as interim athletic director.
