SDSU MBB…Nate Wolters scored 23 points and Jordan Dykstra added 21 on Thursday night as South Dakota State coasted to a 77-61 victory over UMKC.
South Dakota State (11-5, 2-1 Summit) got a balanced all-around game from Wolters, who also had seven assists, six rebounds and four steals. Most of Dykstra's points came from long range, as he hit five 3-point baskets.
Chad White chipped in with 14 points.
UMKC (4-11, 1-3) got 14 points and five assists from Thomas Staton, 12 points from Nelson Kirksey and 10 points from Estan Tyler.
South Dakota State hit nearly 51 percent of its shots from the floor and had a 14-8 scoring advantage through turnovers.

SDSU WBB…Megan Waytashek recorded a double-double and the rest of the Jackrabbit supporting cast got in the mix as South Dakota State cruised to an 82-47 victory over Kansas City Thursday night in Summit League women's basketball action at Frost Arena.
The victory was career win No. 300 for South Dakota State head coach Aaron Johnston as his Jackrabbits improved to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in league play. UMKC, which lost its seventh game in a row, dropped to 4-11 on the season, 0-2 in The Summit League.
Waytashek finished with 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Mariah Clarin was the only other Jackrabbit player in double figures with 12 points, although 11 of the 12 SDSU players to see action scored.
Eilise O'Connor led UMKC with 15 points, going 11-of-12 at the free throw line. Hailey Houser added nine points off the bench in the second half.
The Jackrabbits held a commanding 44-17 advantage on the boards, including a 19-3 edge on the offensive glass. All but one SDSU player tallied a rebound.

SDSU FB HONORS…South Dakota State players Seth Daughters and Zach Zenner were named Thursday to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team presented by KP Sports.
Daughters earned a spot on the honor squad with a 3.72 grade-point average while majoring in exercise science. During the 2012 season, Daughters caught 17 passes for 134 yards with three touchdowns. A team captain, he earned a spot on the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Second Team in 2012.
Zenner made the all-academic team with a 3.78 GPA while majoring in biology/pre-medicine. Previously selected as a member of the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team, Zenner leads the FCS ranks with an average of 157.2 yards per game. He posted a Division I-best 2,044 yards this season in earning a spot on four different All-America teams.
A total of 54 players were honored on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.
Zenner also was one of three Jackrabbits honored on the inaugural College Sports Journal FCS All-Academic Team. Joining him on the 42-player team were junior offensive lineman Taylor Suess and sophomore wide receiver/puntreturner Jason Schneider. Both members of the Capital One Academic All-District Team earlier this season, Suess carries a 3.95 GPA in mechanical engineering, while Schneider has compiled a 3.98 GPA while majoring in pre-pharmacy.
SDSU SOCCER ACADEMIC…The South Dakota State women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
The award is presented to any team that posts a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the given academic year.
The NSCAA recognized a total of 741 collegiate soccer teams (227 men, 514 women) for the award.
