The Brookings County Sheriff's Department is investigating a couple of
thefts.

Sometime between late Friday afternoon and Monday morning, some
250-feet of large gauge insulated copper wire and some electrical wire
was stolen from L-G Everist, Inc.  Estimated value is $2500.

Also Monday, a theft was reported at the old Kniep building at the
intersection of Highways 14 and 81 in Arlington. The stolen items include
a belt sander, pallet jack, and 2 tool chests. The value is not known.
The theft may have happened after a natural gas leak on April 21st.  The
building was left open for a couple days to allow it to air out.
