Pierre takes a back seat to De Smet today as part of South Dakota's ongoing Capital for a Day promotion.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard and other state officials are planning roundtable meetings with De Smet business and community leaders, and there will also be a constituent outreach.
A roundtable discussion about how to keep the next generation in South Dakota will take place at the De Smet High School gymnasium from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Citizens are invited to attend.
A coffee and constituent hour will be held in the gym from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Gov. Daugaard.
De Smet Mayor Gary Wolkow says he's looking forward to showcasing new businesses, new medical facilities and a new community center.
