A Flandreau man is facing several charges in Brookings following a
Friday hit and run incident in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers says they received a call shortly before
4:00 o'clock Friday afternoon that a vehicle had hit a parked car
and two swing sets before leaving the lot with a flat tire.

Police had a description of the vehicle and the direction it was
heading and they located it on 22nd Ave. at about 4:15. The
flat had been changed and police attempted a traffic stop.  The
vehicle continued on for a bit before pulling into the University
Mall parking lot.

The driver, 20-year-old Kenneth Bursheim III, is charged with
driving under the influence, hit and run, driving without insurance,
and driving with a suspended license.

Neither Bursheim nor his paseenger, a Sisseton man, were injured
in the incident.
