BRANDON, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was assaulted by a man along Interstate 90 in eastern South Dakota.
The attack happened Thursday night near Brandon. Authorities say the woman had been traveling west on Interstate 90 when she pulled over her car near mile marker 401. Authorities say she was approached by a man driving an older, diesel pickup and was assaulted.
The woman was given medical care for her injuries.
The assault took place during a saturation patrol by the South Dakota and Minnesota highway patrols that saw an additional 27 troopers along I-90.
Highway Patrol spokesman Terry Woster says a trooper pulled in behind the woman for what he expected to be a motorist assist and learned that she had been attacked.
