Avon motorcyclist killed in 3-vehicle crash

An Avon, South Dakota man is killed in a Wednesday three-vehicle crash
about five 5 miles west of Tyndall.
Forty-eight-year-old Todd Schwering of Avon was driving a motorcycle
west on SD Highway 50. He approached from behind, a slow moving
westbound farm tractor driven by 66-year-old Anthony Eben of Tyndall.
The tractor was towing a sprayer and sprayer boom.
As Schwering entered the eastbound lane to pass the farm tractor, he hit
a part of the sprayer which caused him to crash his motorcycle. Schwering
was thrown from the bike and came to rest lying in the eastbound lane.
Seventy-six-year-old Duane Rothschadl of Tyndall was driving an eastbound
car that ran over Schwering. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
