Brookings police are investigating the theft of wiring from Bowes
Construction on the 2900 block of 22nd Ave. S.

The wiring was ripped from four pieces of construction equipment.
It was reported Friday morning.

Several hundred feet of wiring were stolen, likely for the copper.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers says they do not yet have an estimate
of the loss but it is likely to be extensive because of the damage
done to the equipment.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Brookings police or
Crimestoppers at 692-STOP.  Online:

Powers also says anyone who sees suspicious activity at a
business or construction site should contact police.
