McCOOK COACHES…Two familiar faces will patrol the sidelines for the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars boys’ and girls’ basketball programs this year.
At the helm for the boys’ basketball program will be Jeff Heisinger, while Doug Durfee will return to lead the girls’ basketball team.
Durfee has been the head coach of McCook Central/Montrose since the schools decided to co-op five years ago. He resigned at the end of the 2013 basketball season but decided to come back and coach the team.
Heisinger spent the last five years as an assistant coach with the Fighting Cougars. Prior to the schools co-oping, the Parkston High School graduate spent one season as the head boys’ basketball coach at Montrose.
DSU TRACK COACH…Alex Glover will join the Dakota State University track and field coaching staff as throwing coach for the 2013-14 season. He is also the defensive line coach for the Trojan football team.

Ulic Henehan aced the 155-yard, par 3, seventh hole in Friday’s round of the Brookings Country Club’s Member-Guest Tournament - Bruce Thomas aced the same hole in Saturday’s round. It was the first hole-in-one for both golfers.
