Brookings police investigate car burglaries

Brookings police are investigating a cluster of car burglaries that 
may be related.
 
Lt. Derrick Powers says four cars were broken into sometime 
Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. 
 
At a residence on the 700 block of 3rd Street, two vehicles were
enter. Entry was forced into one of the vehicles by breaking a window.
A wallet was stolen from that vehicle but was later located at a 
different location.
 
An unlocked vehicle was entered on the 1100 block of Fifth Street
and items were stolen.
 
And entry was made to a locked vehicle on the 400 block of Fifth
Avenue by breaking a window and one item was stolen.
 
Powers urges residents to not leave valuables in vehciles and to
keep them locked.
