Brookings police arrest three men for allegedly stealing thousands of
dollars worth of tools from a construction trailer.

Lt. Derrick Powers says it was reported Tuesday and had happened
sometime the previous night or early morning.  He says entry was forced
into the locked trailer and more than $5000 worth of tools were taken. An
exact estimate has not been determined.  The trailer had been parked at
a site just off the diagonal near Highway 14.

Powers says police received a tip on the possible location of the stolen
tools and a search warrant was obtained for a Brookings residence.
The search led to the recovery of at least some of the tools.

Three Brookings men were arrested. Two are 33-years old, the third
is 20.  All three have been charged with grand theft.
