Wal-Mart shoplifter nabbed with over $1000 worth of goods

A man is arrested for grand theft after trying to shoplift more
than $1000 worth of merchandise at the Brookings Wal-Mart
store.

Police were contacted at about 3:00 o'clock Monday afternoon
by store security. They had observed a man concealing items.
The man spent a long time in the store and finally attempted to
leave with a cart full of merchandise at 6:00 p.m. 

The 27-year-old Brookings man was arrested for grand theft and
criminal trespass and was taken to the county jail.
